Our Services

Physiotherapists help individuals with pain or limited function through a range of strategies including manual therapy, exercise, education and advice. They are specialists in muscles, bones and joint injuries in all areas throughout the body. They also have extended knowledge in neurological conditions. If you have a recent or long standing pain, or a limit in function, come see a physiotherapist today.

Manual Therapy

Physiotherapists use joint mobilisation, manipulation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching techniques, trigger-point therapy, muscle energy techniques and more to help restore normal movement to regions of the body that are causing pain or dysfunction.

Exercise Rehabilitation

A major component of physiotherapy is the use of exercise to encourage the patient to strengthen and loosen the injured or dysfunctional area. Exercise therapy can be as diverse as relaxed breathing techniques all the way through to running or weight-training activities.

Massage

Massage is a wonderful way to relax tense muscles and decrease pain associated with muscle spasm and injury. Physiotherapists use massage to help decrease pain and allow people to start moving more comfortably.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment using acupuncture needles to help decrease tension in tight areas of muscle or fascia (the connective tissue overlying muscles). It is useful for those who cannot tolerate really firm manual therapy or massage because it is actually relatively gentle. Often people feel they have had a deep tissue massage after a needling session.

Sports and Running Injury Management

Play sport for long enough and you are bound to have an injury or two. Physiotherapists provide education on return to sport, healing timeframes and rehabilitation protocol. We can also strap you up or treat your injury to keep you participating in the activity you love.

Workplace, post-surgical or TAC injury

Physiotherapists are trusted by doctors and surgeons to provide rehabilitation to those who have had an accident or surgery. These services are often provided without any out of pocket costs to the patient.

Balance and Vertigo Treatment

Joe has a particular special interest in vestibular physiotherapy, an offshoot of neurological physiotherapy that involves assessing the function of the inner ear to determine if it is contributing to a patients balance disorder or vertigo. Joe has a dedicated website for his vestibular physio and focuses his work in Geelong on treating vertigo patients. Check out thedizzinessphysio.com for more details on Joe’s passion.
